This new, state-of-the-art multi-purpose arena is the home rink for Bentley University’s hockey team and host to a variety of campus-wide events. Bentley Arena now holds the title of the most environmentally sustainable ice arena in the country, being the first to achieve LEED Platinum certification. Thoughtful implementation of sustainable design and energy efficiencies demonstrates Bentley’s commitment to innovation and environmentally sustainable practices, an exemplary model for other academic institutions to follow. In addition to the numerous standout features of the arena itself, the outdoor plaza has been paved with over 3,500 square feet of permeable paving to reduce storm water. Scaled to accommodate 2,000-3,400 person events, Eco-Line® Platform from the Permeable Collection was chosen because it is cost-effective, heavy-duty and durable. The plaza outside Bentley’s Arena will provide a gathering place to welcome the entire Bentley community for many years to come.
