Permeable pavers provide a sustainable and effective solution for stormwater management. Designed with wider joints that are filled with open-graded aggregate, they work in tandem with an open-graded base to promote rapid rainwater infiltration without compromising structural integrity or design aesthetics. These systems reduce local flooding, improve water quality, and help mitigate the thermal impact on nearby waterways. In addition to their environmental benefits, our permeable pavers demonstrate exceptional durability, require minimal maintenance, and are suitable for a wide range of applications.

What are Permeable Pavers and How Do They Manage Stormwater?

Permeable interlocking concrete pavements (PICP), commonly known as permeable pavers, are a proven Low Impact Development (LID) strategy.

Our permeable pavers are solid concrete paving units designed with wider joints than standard pavers, creating openings in the surface for water to filter through. The pavers work in combination with permeable joint material and an open-graded aggregate base. This aggregate structure creates essential voids that allow for the rapid filtration and temporary storage of stormwater before it slowly infiltrates into the subbase below.

By implementing this system, you can transform conventionally paved areas, which traditionally contribute to flooding and strain municipal sewer systems, into an active and functional element of your site’s water management plan
