Prairie District Park

Prairie District Park

site design group, ltd

Chicago, IL

Located at the northeast corner of 21st Street and S, Prairie Avenue a pocket park replaces a vacant lot. Designed by landscape architect Site Design Group the new park is divided into three parts: a playground with water sprayers for kids, a combination turf and pavement area for canines, and a plaza with seating in between. Permeable, Eco-Priora™ pavers were chosen for the parks walkways in a Heritage Brown color to accent the neighborhood’s vintage brick lofts. The park is just one of many components of the redevelopment in the area surrounding McCormick Place.
