A 65,000 square foot space just outside of the Kendall Square district in Cambridge, MA has been redeveloped and rebranded as the Sidney Research Campus. The new three-building multi-tenant center features multiple research and lab facilities and meets the demand for efficient spaces designed for smaller high-tech and life science companies.

CBA Landscape Architects designed a courtyard between 200 Sidney and 40 Erie Streets and a new park on campus grounds, improving the building’s functionality and amenities, while creating an outdoor collaborative space. Among multiple innovative features, the exterior courtyard includes custom wood benches over cast-in-place concrete, new bike share stations and outdoor ping-pong tables, all serving to engage the street. The linear paver design directs users and visitors to the building entrance within the plaza. PromenadeTM Plank Pavers with Umbriano® Finish in Grenada White, French Grey and Midnight Sky creates a dynamic aesthetic, complementing the modern research campus and reinforcing the innovative spirit of Kendall Square.

The Sidney Reseach Campus buildings have achieved LEED C&S Gold Certification.
