Wind Uplift Slabs
Unilock Wind Uplift Slabs are a key component of the SkyView Wind Uplift System. These patent-pending, 2″ thick concrete slabs work in combination with the SkyView Wind Uplift Kit and either SkyView Pedestals or Wind Waffles to create a rafted paving surface that resists uplift forces. Available in a wide range of finishes and colors, they also provide the creative flexibility needed to meet your design vision in high-wind environments.

Unilock meets and exceeds ASTM C1782 – Standard Specification for Segmental Concrete Paving Slabs using test methods conforming to:
- ASTM C1645 for Freeze Thaw Durability <225g/m2
- C140 for Compressive Strength >8000 psi , Flexural Strength >725 psi, and Absorption <5%
- C418 for Abrasion Resistance

Wind is a major concern for rooftop pedestal systems, especially in high-rise or open coastal environments. As wind moves across and around buildings, it creates uplift forces that can displace or destabilize traditional slabs. Unilock Wind Uplift Slabs are specifically designed to address this challenge. Manufactured with an undercut channel on two opposing sides, these slabs integrate seamlessly with the SkyView Wind Uplift Kit. The result is a rafted, interlocking surface that resists uplift forces, keeping every slab locked firmly in place, even under extreme wind conditions.
In addition to its engineered performance, the Unilock Wind Uplift Slabs offer an aesthetic advantage. While other wind solutions often rely on surface-mounted clips or fasteners, the tie-down mechanism from the SkyView Wind Uplift System remains entirely concealed by the undercut channel of the slabs. This delivers a clean, uninterrupted surface that doesn’t compromise on safety or stability.
