After undergoing a major renovation, the iconic Castaways Beach House at North Avenue Beach is reopening its doors, now under the new name, Castaways Beach Club. The original ship-shaped structure, demolished due to deterioration, has been replaced by a nearly identical design that preserves the original charm while incorporating modern upgrades.

The popular beachfront destination offers the perfect setting for guests to enjoy food and drinks while taking in stunning views of North Avenue Beach and the Chicago skyline. The renovation, led by Barker Nestor Group Design, successfully blends the original charm with modern design elements. Key upgrades include a two-story restaurant, a tented structure on the north end, private cabanas, and expanded dining decks. Some of these areas feature Unilock Arcana slabs, which add a contemporary touch to the space. The large-format slabs in the color Vivanto beautifully complement the building’s blue façade, and blend seamlessly with the beach setting.
