The Elmwood Park Commercial Corridor Revitalization Plan received funding from the Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program (ITEP) to restructure its downtown streetscape. This plan improved access to the underutilized Conti Circle by realigning the streets for better sight lines of the Elmwood Park’s Village Center. The mixed-use development in the center of Conti Circle and multi-use open space created a destination for visitors, commuters and locals. Unilock’s Richcliff and Copthorne pavers were used to create wider sidewalks that provide pedestrians with more comfortable and efficient walking paths. The project resulted in an enriched business and residential district due to the improved attractiveness, safety, and mobility of the downtown streets.
