Parking Lots,
Permeable
The Woodridge Park District community built a much needed state-of-the-art facility to meet the growing community needs. As part of the Athletic Recreation Center construction project, the exterior work included the construction of a large parking lot, installation of various fixtures and playground equipment, as well as grading and landscaping. Williams Architects used Eco-OptilocTM to achieve an environmentally sustainable and optimal solution of the parking lot surface designed with load-bearing properties and permeability. The system collects the water from storm events within the subbase of the permeable surface, capturing stormwater runoff while simultaneously dealing with the issue of heavy vehicular traffic, and accommodating the hundreds of daily visitors of the recreational complex.
