Substantial growth in Grand Rapids over the last decade inspired the need to update the streetscape on Pearl Street, considered an entryway into the city. The street was enhanced with trees, planters, brick pavers, seating, decorative streetlights and upgraded lights. Installation of infiltration basins to help with stormwater were built at the planters and the Artline™ pavers were installed with a permeable joint aggregate to ensure water would drain from the sidewalk into the planters filled with trees and other vegetation. Planters and benches were constructed with Lineo™ Dimensional System. “This work has re-energized Pearl Street,” Grand Rapids Mayor Rosalynn Bliss said.
