Aimed at keeping Wellington County an attractive destination for community members and businesses, the County Council initiated a plan focused on sustainable development and street maintenance in towns, such as Eden Mills. Part of a long-term strategy directed toward creating and implementing safe and pedestrian-friendly roads, York Street was paved with Dura-Flow in Classic finish, outlining the pedestrian area from the main road. The permeable application and unique shape allow for rapid rainwater runoff, as well as facilitate easier cleaning and joint maintenance, improving the street-level experience and fostering a sustainable community that benefits the residents, as well as surrounding environment for everyone to enjoy.
