This garden project in Foxboro, Massachusetts, required transforming a steep hill into a combination of hardscape and softscape design elements to outline the space and form a path, connecting it to the surrounding area. The designer constructed three large retaining walls, one placed on top of another, resembling the build of ancient amphitheatres. Well suited for handling grade changes, RomanWall units provided flexibility in design, as the use of tapered components allowed forming the curved shape of the wall planters and steps. Featuring a multitude of shrubs, mesmerizing water features and a variety of other landscaping accents, the space gives the impression of an antique European garden, while the distressed appearance of the wall units mimics aged stone and adds elegance to this unique space.
