Williamsville, a small village incorporated in 1850 and located in Erie County, New York is home to a historic nineteen-century water mill and historic downtown shops, several beautiful parks, seasonal festivals, and the picturesque Glen Falls, making it a charming destination to visit and live. The former industrial area of the water mill has been revitalized to reflect the charming character of Williamsville. The street now features stormwater gardens that use trees and plants to filter runoff and reduce sedimentation. The planters are Rivercrest Wall®, creating an aesthetic similar to the native stone at nearby Glen Falls. Beneath the new plaza at the historic mill is an aggregate reservoir for stormwater capture and filtration. The plaza design uses Town Hall® in a permeable paver application between large sections of coloured concrete to create the access point for the reservoir. This large plaza serves both daily needs of the nearby ice cream shop as well as weekly and seasonal festivals. This design is environmentally sustainable, as well as aesthetically picturesque amplifying the refined streetscape and green space.
