Commuter and downtown parking spots in the Village of Riverside were in high demand so the town took advantage of an opportunity to acquire land near the business district. The challenge of developing a parking lot at this location was to minimize stormwater runoff and use materials and plants that would enhance the historic character of the community. Christopher B Burke Engineering Limited developed a design using permeable paving, Eco-Priora™ with an Il Campo® brushed finish in a traditional pattern, along with a rain garden feature. These elements dramatically reduced the stormwater runoff for the site and complimented the historic downtown district.
