The Cleveland Ohio Transportation Authority, better known as ‘COTA’, is a transit bureau serving Franklin County and all the rest of the central Ohio region. COTA is a strong believer of investing in a green future and making every effort they can to protect the environment. LEED certification is something COTA took very seriously in this effort. Being said, permeable pavers were an absolute must for this project!
Schieber & Associates installed Unilock’s Eco-Optiloc and Umbriano pavers. Eco-Optiloc is one of the best sollutions for permeable applications and the mottled, granite-like surface, Umbriano, was utilized as an accent to match the building with the pavers. Today, there are 148 LEED Certified Buildings in Ohio. Fifty one of those buildings are Gold Certified and Franklin County boasts just seven LEED Gold Certified Buildings. COTA’s Fields Avenue Facility is one of the seven.
