One of the most vibrant corridors emerging in downtown Columbus, this Creative Campus public service project modernizes the streetscape and improves sidewalks and roads. This corridor among the academic buildings of the Columbus College of Art and Design is complemented by greenery and conversation areas.

MKSK Studios chose Unilock pavers with Seriesâ„¢ finish in special-order colors to create a pixilated paver design that reflects the creative spirit of the design school. Utilizing different paver colors and patterning, they were also able to identify intersections and provide a visual cue for pedestrian crosswalks. Capable of handling both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, the chosen pavers transition flawlessly from walkway to roadway. The Series finish also provides long-term wear and structural performance creating a durable streetscape. The combination of visually striking landscape design and eye-catching street art creates a flourishing downtown creative corridor.

Atypical for city of Columbus, this unique streetscape has broken traditional design norms and shed light on what can be achieved with concrete pavers in streetscape design. As a result, this project has been referenced and used as a benchmark for upcoming projects in the Columbus area.
