Plaza de las Americas project received a Diamond Award in the 2017 ACEC New York Engineering Excellence. The reconstruction of West 175th Street from Broadway to Wadsworth, transformed the plaza market into a beautiful multi-purpose open space for the community. Design work included site analysis, traffic engineering, topographic survey, geotechnical engineering and urban landscape architecture. Enhancements include trees, lighting, benches, a drinking fountain, public art and decorative permeable paving materials. Landscape architects were very detailed in choosing pavers creating a design that would match New York’s urban style and fast paced environment. Umbriano and Series were chosen in different colors creating an amenity space for the citizens and visitors of New York city.
