Challenge: This mixed-use development faced the challenge of most retail projects. How can an Owner develop the maximum amount of a site in order to return the most amount of revenue from the project? Additionally, portions of the project were on the National Historic Register and required very specific shapes and colors in order to “stitch” the old with the new.
Solution: Unilock’s Eco Optiloc™ was selected for the entire parking lot and drive lanes because it is a heavy-duty permeable paver that is ADA compliant. Due to its industry leading infiltration rate the design team was able to extend the site and maximize the building footprint and parking-drive areas while satisfying stormwater management requirements. Unilock collaborated with the design team to select colors that would be appropriate for this historic site.
